Historic Nantucket Island is the crown jewel of the New England region. Located 26 miles off the coast of Eastern Massachusetts, Nantucket is easily accessible by air and sea – high-speed passenger ferries and vehicular ferries from Hyannisport, MA, shuttle flights from Barnstable, MA and major airlines. A Nantucket vacation makes for a wonderful getaway.
Chief among Nantucket’s many attractions are more than 50 miles of natural, undeveloped beaches. Whale-watching, seal-watching, bird-watching, star-gazing, and an endless variety of nature tours by boat, foot and vehicle – Nantucket is a spectacular place to enjoy the bounty and beauty of nature. Nantucket is also home to top-shelf boutiques and clothiers, world-class restaurants, a winery, a brewery, a distillery and galleries galore, most located in the historic Town center with its Old World Charm and architecture, cobblestone streets, and absolutely no “chain” stores.
Most popular on Nantucket is biking – Rent a bike and explore, using the many bike paths that traverse the island. Nantucket is only 14 miles long and 3 miles wide and bikes are the main mode of transportation in the summer months. Nantucket bike rentals allow you to rent a bike for a few hours or a few days. You can even rent a bicycle built for two! Maps of the island’s bicycle paths and walking tours are available from our Innkeeper.
If there is any activity that interests you – or, if you have absolutely no idea where to begin your exploration – our Innkeeper will happily steer you in the right direction. Unlike other innkeepers on the island, Barbara prides herself on making sure every single guest not only enjoys themselves but enjoys Nantucket. There is truly something for everyone here!
We look forward to helping you have a memorable vacation to our Nantucket bed and breakfast.
